Kelly Zimmermann
Candidate for Alderman – 3rd District
Veteran, Business Owner, and Community Advocate
My Story

I’m Kelly Zimmermann, a lifelong Waterbury resident, U.S. Army National Guard veteran, and small business owner. I’m honored to have served two terms on the Board of Aldermen, including through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. I’m running for re-election to continue advocating for a more transparent, fiscally responsible, and community-focused city government.
With over two decades of experience in business marketing, team leadership, and procurement management, I bring practical, results-oriented thinking to public service.
I’m proud to:
· Serve as a liaison to the Waterbury Arts & Tourism Commission, promoting access and accountability in local
arts and culture
· Support policies that enhance public safety, education, and neighborhood quality of life
· Build cross-sector partnerships that foster economic growth and civic engagement
My community involvement includes:
· Chair of the Waterbury Veterans Memorial Committee and the city’s Memorial Day Parade
· Active with the Bunker Hill Neighborhood Association and Waterville Community Club
· Founder of the Bunker Hill Holiday Wreath Contest, promoting local pride and connection
· Member of the Waterbury Elks
I’m proud of my deep Waterbury roots—from my education at St. Joseph’s and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, to earning my degree at CCSU—and even prouder to give back through public service. I remain committed to doing the work with honesty, heart, and purpose.
